Mr. O’Dell has been CEO and Director of CFBank, N.A. and CF Bankshares Inc. since August 2012. Since recapitalizing CFBank in late 2012, and raising $34.5 million in total new capital, Mr. O’Dell and his Leadership team have improved operating earnings by $6 million; expanded CFBank’s presence into the Cleveland market; and repositioned CFBank as a niche business bank by attracting high quality business clients throughout Ohio markets (Columbus, Cleveland, Akron/Canton, and Columbiana County). Prior to joining CFBank, Mr. O’Dell spent 22 years at Fifth Third Bank and was President and Chief Executive Officer for the Central Ohio division. During his time at Fifth Third Bank, he was instrumental in growing the bank’s assets from $200 million to over $5 billion through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Mr. O’Dell was also the founder and managing partner of The Chetwood Group, which served the needs of entrepreneurs and closely held businesses ranging from real estate and construction to distributors and professional services businesses, with a focus on growth strategies and value creation. He has served on the board of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce and The Ohio State University Medical Center, he was also a founding investor in Ohio TechAngel Venture Fund.
